Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) is small, scalable and sophisticated communications technology that allows for the use of small fixed satellite antennas to provide highly reliable communication between a central hub and almost any number of geographically dispersed sites. This number can range from one to tens to thousands and provides almost infinite scalability.
VSAT is also taking on an expanding role in a variety of interactive, on-line data, voice and multimedia applications and has very high reliability and network availability rates with seamless upgrade methods.
As satellite technology presents no physical limitations in terms of geography or distance the deployment of the ISat Africa Connect solution is quick and relatively simple. The ISat Africa Connect service makes use of both C-Band and Ku-Band transponders to connect with three satellites which together provide coverage of the whole African continent.
